Holidays

When planning holidays, do try to avoid breaking into term-time if at all possible. We understand that holidays are cheaper at certain times of the year, but children miss a lot of valuable teaching time, which could affect their progress and undermine their confidence. Under section 21 (6) of the Education (Welfare) Act 2000, schools are obliged to report all children who miss 20 or more days in the school year to the National Education Welfare Board. It is the policy of our school that time missed through holidays is the choice of the parent. The teachers do not provide schemes of work to follow on holidays, nor can they give extra tuition to the child on returning.
